Premium Pathfinder Campaign Beginning – 2/13/11, 6 p.m.!

At long last, we’re getting another store-sponsored, open-play Pathfinder campaign started at Organized Play! This one will be run by Jeffrey Witthauer, an award-winning RPG author who’s currently working on the Witch Hunter system for Paradigm Concepts. You’ll also notice that Jeffrey ran our highly successful Houses of the Blooded in-store campaign for its entire six-month run! Jeffrey’s using a homebrew campaign setting, and all of the pertinent info is on the campaign management Web site, EpicWords. This first session – Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. – will be dedicated to character creation, and getting a handle on the number of interested players.

So, yes, there’s this “Premium” thing I mentioned in the title. What that means is that we’re actually going to try to compensate Jeffrey for all the work he’s putting into the campaign. As such, starting in March, you’ll need to purchase $5 in store credit per session. And, yes, you can save it up, and use it to buy snacks! Trust me… for the effort that I’ve been hearing that Jeffrey’s been putting into the campaign, it’ll be worth it!

Pathfinder Society Play Restarting @ Organized Play! Thursday, August 19, 7 p.m.

Well, yeah… pretty much the headline! We’ve got a DM who’s ready and willing to get Pathfinder Society play up and rolling again at OP for gameplay every Thursday at 7 p.m. Pathfinder Society is a persistent campaign – much like Living Forgotten Realms – where the character that you make can be taken to any table in the world that plays the campaign! One of the awesome ideas behind Society is the faction system – you’ll enroll your character in one of several different factions and work on side missions throughout the adventures to accomplish individual goals. Play for PFS will continue every Thursday at 7 p.m. – if you’re interested but haven’t played Pathfinder before, that’s fine – just come out around 30 minutes early and we’ll get a character going for you!

Announcing OpieCon – 1/22 – 1/24 – Pathfinder, Star Wars and Witch Hunter!

edit: opiecon link works now, just needed to take out the capital letters

After a highly successful Year’s End mini-convention for Living Forgotten Realms, we’ve decided to do it again, partnered with the Tennessee Valley Gamers’ Association – but this time, with Pathfinder Society, Star Wars: Saga Edition, and Witch Hunter: Dark Providence! The idea for OpieCon is to give some excellent non-D&D campaigns exposure in the Knoxville area. Several of the games are still being worked on, so check back in a couple of days if you don’t see the games listed yet. Best of all, OpieCon, just like all our other mini-cons so far, is absolutely free. Remember – all scheduled events and players, in the case of a shortage of playing space, will be given priority. More details below the cut!

Kajonk-A-Con

Organized Play will have a presence at Kajonk-A-Con this weekend!

On Saturday and Sunday (Dec 5 & 6), Kevin (and a helper) will be in the gaming room teaching Magic: The Gathering and running MtG drafts.  At some point Ken will run a Pathfinder Demo.

If you go, be sure to stop by and say “Hi!” because we will be giving out a 20% off coupon to your fave FLGS.

Weekend RPGs at Organized Play + Sunday Demo

For this weekend’s RPG schedule, we’ll be hosting several games starting at 10 a.m. with a Paragon level adventure for Living Forgotten Realms. (This adventure will take the place of our usual Pathfinder Society game, which will be back as usual next week. For newer players, there’s a level 1-4 Living Forgotten Realms adventure at 3 p.m. If you’re interested, just show up a little early – we have folks who are happy to help you make a 4th Edition character, as well as pre-generated ones!

Finally, for our Sunday Demo Day, Clint Bell will host a game of Paranoia XP. – the latest and greatest edition of the classic from Mongoose Publishing! Clint will be hosting a custom scenario designed to give players a feel of the game, as well as many, many character sheets… If you’ve never heard of Paranoia, expect to die. Often. And, hopefully, gloriously, in service to the System!
